Ongoing Benefit for Alzheimer’s Association: "Maxine in Kansas" A Tribute to My Mother
100% of the proceeds from the reproduction of "Maxine in Kansas" will be donated to the Alzheimer’s Association. "Maxine in Kansas" was drawn from a wonderful photograph that my Aunt Flossie gave me. Shortly after my mother’s dementia had been diagnosed as Alzheimer’s, I created this work in an attempt to immortalize my mother’s hopes, dreams and all of her good intentions. My mother was a seamstress and made all of her own clothing. When I was a child she handmade all of my clothing as well. I like to believe that I inherited all of her good qualities: cheerfulness, hopefulness, and spunkiness.
Prints: $95 framed, $45 unframed. eMail your jkp@sonic.net
